steakOS is open-source business software you run yourself — for a farm, a workshop, a restaurant, or any small company that wants quotes, stock, invoices, and payments in one place you own. On steakos.org the software is free to use forever. We will never charge a fee to run steakOS itself.
steakOS.ai is optional paid help from people: setup coaching, training, add-ons, consulting, and (later) skill certificates. Paying here buys time and extras — not a lock on the doors, and not a usage fee for the program.

Why this sits beside free software
steakOS was built from the ground up so you can run it on your computer or your server (decentralized — no mandatory cloud landlord), keep business data private, and lean on strong security and resilience. AI (computer helpers that draft text and suggestions) sits in the foundation, not glued on later — helpers draft; you approve anything that moves money.
You always keep the free path. Paying steakOS.ai does not take away your right to run, study, share, or improve the open core under the open license (Apache License 2.0). Self-serve getting started stays on steakos.org.
Size tiers, not mystery metals
When we talk about Bronze, Silver, and Gold, we mean product size tiers — starter, growing, and large — because one size does not fit every business. We only discuss depth that the product actually offers.
